Minnesota Photographers at 2008 PPA Tampa Florida

I had the good fortune to be able to attend PPA's national convention in Tampa Florida. On the last night several of the Minnesotans gathered for a group photograph at Tampa's aquarium. I am in the back with the white shirt. I am standing next to Amy Zellmer this years TCPPA president. The photographers that I interned with Mark and Krish Keifer are in the front row all the way to the left. Next to Krish is David Gruppa. David challenged the TCPPA group to raise 750 dollars for Operation Smile and he would shave his head. 750 dollars pays for 3 reconstructive surgeries for cleft lips and cleft pallets. David exceeded is goal raising 4800 dollars and shaved his head at the TCPPA yearly Christmas/Awards banquet. Way to go Dave.!! Click here to learn more about Operation Smile .

2007 TCPPA Student Photographer of the Year

I was lucky enough to be named the Twin Cities Professional Photographers Association Student photographer of the year. Thanks to everyone at TCPPA and all of the speakers that they bring in every month. The extra training I receive at those lectures is a great addition to the education I am getting at Hennepin Technical College which made this possible.

There was a print competition at this months TCPPA monthly meeting. The theme this month was White. Here is my entry. It is a friendly peoples choice competition with the entry fee of one dollar going towards PPA Charities benefiting Operation Smile.

Kevin Kubota Actions

I missed out on a two day workshop that MPPA held last year that Kevin spoke at. I have been kicking myself ever since. the responce from those that attended was intense. I made up for it this year. I got to hear Kevin speak at the 2008 Imaging USA conference in Tampla Florida. I bought some of his actions. Here are my first two attempts at using them, with my two favorite models.

Been busy

Well it has been very busy around here the last month and a half. First I finished up school, I was named the Twin Cities Professional Photographers Association, Student Photographer of the year, went to Israel for two weeks, came back and went to Florida for the Professional Photographers of America annual national conference.
