Rosh Hashanah 2012/5773 Shir Tikvah

What a wonderful celebration of the new year with Shir Tikvah
It is such an exciting time as Shir Tikvah is approaching its 25th year anniversary. We had wonderful services with great music and great sermons. Ann Kaner- Roth gave a great talk called Conversations Matter: Make Your Voice Heard Which was simply beautiful and powerful. It was so moving hearing her discuss the conversations that regretfully go unsaid encouraging us to have those conversations and not make assumptions on how they will be received.  An awesome lesson to be reminded of indeed.

Nesiya September 2012 The Journey continues

We had another great day of Nesiya at Shir Tikvah. We gathered everyone together in the sanctuary, then split up into groups. The kids created a painting with paints , glitter and pipe cleaners to show what their soul looks like. The grownups learned a little bit on how to find a torah portion not relying on page numbers, and other things. We came back together for services where the kids got to see the torah up close. We did another activity and then had a wonderful oneg together as a whole group.

Shir Tikvah religious school is back is session. Today started with everyone gathering in the sanctuary with a 80's themed short program including havdalah. Then the kids met their teacher and then they all headed off to their classrooms and even got to do some of their lessons outside including a social action program about the marriage amendment. Have a great year everyone.

The Zellers, The Krams and The Gellers

Getting dressed up for a wedding is a good reason to take some family pictures. At the wedding of our friends Eliav and Maor we took some time out right before the ceremony and grabbed some quick family pictures at the Best Western.

Josh's Bar Mitzvah Party

We finished off the weekend of celebration with a pool party at Josh's grandparents house. there was more  great food to eat, sodas and adult beverages to drink, and  yummy cake to finish it all off.  They hired a  juggler to perform. He was quite the entertainer and worked Josh into many of his routines. They both had lots of fun as you can see here and they even worked Josh's parents into a couple of the routines as well.
